We customize your time onboard for your maximum relaxation and comfort. You’ll lay suspended over the turquoise sea as we serve you our delicious chef creations and craft cocktails, and take you to spectacular places in St. Maarten to swim, snorkel, and simply sink into the present moment.
We are not your ordinary boat charter. We offer a laid-back luxurious vibe, and believe that amazing sailing experiences happen when we make time to relax, reconnect, and revel in the beauty that surrounds us.
We operate out of Port de Plaisance Yacht Club in Cole Bay. This is where your charter will start and end, and there is plenty of free parking available.

Before we welcome you aboard and can share a glass of bubbly together, we’d love to share a bit about who we are and how we got here, so you can feel right at home when you come sailing with us.
Like all of us in this global community, we’ve had a challenging past few years. But if there is a silver lining to be had, it’s been an opportunity to take pause and reflect on what matters most in life. For us, we came to realize that we no longer felt nourished by the status quo and the rat race of ‘go, go, go’.
So together as a family, we decided to set aside our respective careers (and varied ones at that – roofing master craftsman, human resources leader, and schoolteacher x2), to begin a voyage of rediscovery and reclaim what matters most – being happy and healthy, connecting with people, and surrounding ourselves in nature’s abundant beauty.
With a big dream and a little faith in the universe, we packed up our lives in Canada and were welcomed with open arms onto this warm and friendly island of St. Maarten where we’ve now called home for the past two years.
We thought to combine our 30+ years of boating experience, love of entertaining, and an appreciation for all things beautiful, to create an amazing space, in the most spectacular place, where we could do what we love, with the people we love, and help others do the same. Renegades was born.
We invested all our energy and hard work into a brand-new catamaran, aptly named Freedom, which would sail us into our bright new future in sunny SXM. Not ones to shy away from adventure, we decided to pick up Freedom in France, hot off the production presses, and cut our sailing teeth on the notorious Bay of Biscay. We braved rough seas, high winds, and the occasional orca hell-bent on sinking boats, to sail 2,000+ nautical miles along the French, Spanish and Portuguese Atlantic coasts, through the Strait of Gibraltar and into the Mediterranean. It was the trip of a lifetime – because after all, isn’t it all about living life to its fullest, every chance you get? This is living like a renegade.
Back in SXM with nothing but tranquil, turquoise, and sparkling seas ahead, we’re ready at the helm as captains of our own ship (literally), and we can’t wait to welcome you aboard, to relax, reconnect, and experience Freedom at sea.
