An adrenaline rush like no other, famous Maho Beach located in front of Princess Juliana International Airport is where planes will take off and land right above your head. Maho also offers spectacular sunsets and a flourishing nightlife with bars, restaurants, dance clubs, and a casino.

With views of the scenic Causeway Swing Bridge and one of the largest inland lagoons in the West Indies, this historic fishing town is now a vibrant hubbub of restaurants, beach bars, nightlife, and world-class marinas.  

360 degrees of blissful natural beauty surround this gem, considered to be the ‘secret beach’. It’s clean with a remote, relaxing vibe and centre-stage to electronic music magic at the annual SXM Festival.

Well protected from the waves with warm, shallow water, this beach is a perfect playground for families to splash around in, and anyone just looking to chill. It’s a favourite among locals and offers the best view of the neighbouring British island of Anguilla.

Home to high-end villas and one of the island’s most exclusive resorts, this beautifully long, sandy beach has mostly calm waters, making it a luxurious peaceful hideaway large enough for everyone to find the right mix of privacy and tranquility. With its powdery soft sand, a dazzling contrast to the sparkling turquoise sea, it’s a romantic spot to catch a view of the setting sun.  

One of the longest and most internationally awarded beaches on the island, Mullet is an idyllic coastal hamlet featuring shady palms and crystal-clear waters. Calmer waves wash ashore near the beach-front bars, while stronger waves great for surfing tend to splash in near the other end, which makes this beach a popular spot for locals, especially on the weekends.  

Tucked away in a secluded bay, this beach resort community is a quiet and secluded spot with a picturesque landscape and calm waters. It’s a perfect place to paddle board and chill away from the crowds.  

This underwater park was built for beginner and advanced snorkelers to explore its diverse aquatic life surrounding the wrecks of a sunken helicopter and submarine. Well protected by the outcrop of Fort Amsterdam in Philipsburg, its calm waters make it a great spot for families as well as the brown pelican, St. Maarten’s national bird, whose nesting grounds are here.

It’s a day in of itself to visit this uninhabited slice of heaven surrounded by ocean and bright white sand, and where majestic sea turtles and rays call home. Named Tinta Mar by the Spanish for ‘colour of the sea’, walking the interior of this peaceful desert island you’ll spot red cliffs, an old farmhouse and crashed plane, plus the occasional goat.

Pinel and Tintamarre are completely disconnected islets, offering quiet relaxation away from the hustle and bustle. There are calmer waters on the west side of this protected nature reserve, where its main beach and a couple of seaside restaurants are located.

With its shallow waters and sandy bottom, this popular snorkeling spot is part of the National Nature Reserve near the vibrant seaside village of Grand Case in French Saint Martin. Swim with Blue Tang and explore the coral reef surrounding this natural formation, said locally to resemble the head and feet of an Amerindian male laying face up in the sea.
